What’s fermenting? is a break, a moment for personal reflection and a space for sharing. The event invites people together to stop and share experiences about life in a world stirred by environmental crises. During the afternoon we will tune into sensing our relationship to the environment and listen to our feelings and thoughts evoked by environmental crises. How and where in the body can we feel the crises, and what kind of actions does that inspire? These questions bring us together in our cultivation of relationships to ourselves, each other and the earth.

The event is organised in collaboration with WAUHAUS and Elävän Kulttuurin Koroinen ry. Additional information from Koroinen will be added to the event day details.

Aliisa Talja (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist and facilitator, who works with questions of diverse kinship, care and reparative interactions, as well as sensuous knowledges. Her individual work is artistic research through texts, photographs, and reflective exercises. In collaborations she often develops events and participatory activities. Aliisa has years of experience in collective organising, planning workshops, as well as investigating and developing feminist modes of action. She holds a MA in Contemporary Design from Aalto University. She is part of the Mustarinda Association; a community of researchers and artists promoting ecological rebuilding of society.

Samuli Laine (he/him) is a scenographer, facilitator and a live artist who works with themes related to interdependence, relations and care. The resulting works are often multidisciplinary, curious, and try to find new intersections between political engagement and art. Laine is a member of both WAUHAUS and Reality Research Center. He has a long history in collective art making and examining the structures that shape how we work and interact together. In addition to art making, teaching, and mentoring, Laine is involved in various forms of civic engagement. He also practices gardening, zazen and kickboxing.
