How has public space affected the activities and organizing of LGBTQ+ people? In what ways have public spaces been taken over in queer-history? Where have sexual and gender minorities met each other in Turku during the 20th and 21st century?
‘The Streets of Turku: A Queer Perspective’ walking tour takes its participants to see the queer-historical sites in the city center of Turku with an expert guide. The tour takes a critical look into the opportunities and challenges public space offers for people belonging to marginalized groups. The tour also makes visible the queer-historical stories hidden in the urban space of Turku.
