Todellisuuden tutkimuskeskus / Pilvi Porkola: SOFA – Conversations on Utopias

Artist Pilvi Porkola (in collaboration with the Centre for Research on Reality) presents the work SOHVA – Discussions on Utopia on the pedestrian street in Turku one week before the biennial begins.

The performance brings societal discussions directly into city life. Porkola sits down on a sofa and talks about utopias with Suvi Salmenniemi, Professor of Sociology, and activist Vilka Räisänen. Passers-by are invited to pause, reflect on the world and the future – and perhaps even take a seat on the sofa themselves.

This performative conversation encourages reflections on what kind of future we want to build together.

LOCATION: Pedestrian street, Yliopistonkatu 20
TIME: Fri 22 Aug, 1–3 pm and Sat 23 Aug, 1–3 pm, and during the biennial on Sat 6 Sep, 11 am–1 pm.
