Having as a point of departure simple everyday objects and found materials from different environments, both urban and natural, Bullmann develops subtle, minimalistic and often poignant explorations of form, texture and sensation. In these material entanglements and tensions, she is keen to work with the traces of her bodily action on the objects she manipulates. She presents her body as both canvas and agent, as sculpture and as source of movement, sometimes gently, sometimes with uncanny force and visceral results. In her action in Turku, Bullmann will engage with local spaces and objects, from the most organic to outright synthetic and artificial, and will explore or activate relations amongst them.
