Jamie MacDonald will host the opening ceremony of the New Performance Turku Biennale on Tuesday, September 5th. Audience is welcome to join the opening event after Every house has a door and Essi Kausalainen: The Fossil Record performance.

Jamie MacDonald is a Canadian-Finnish queer transgender nuisance who has been performing on Finnish and international stages since 2004, and who’s made himself a household name in the red-green bubble. He’s co-created several community-driven projects, including Feminist Comedy Night and Feminist Comedy Academy, Punch Up! – Resistance and Glitter, and the monthly queer salon Attic Underground. His most recent solo show, Cuck, takes on fatherhood, masculinity, and humiliation, which sounds really quite high-brow but it’s rather a lot of queer butt jokes. He’s currently doing a PhD at Uniarts Helsinki, on those queer butt jokes.
